Asset finance is growing in popularity, and the Finance and Leasing Association reported recently that new asset finance business grew by 12% in the year to September 2016, the 36th consecutive month of growth.

This Solution was a Complex One
In this case the client was a long established customer of ours, who required a substantial sum of money – c.£1 million – that was to be secured against some of its existing key assets – CNC machines. The money was required to fund a move to a new factory, as well as the fit out of another factory, as part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.
As can often be the case, the process was not a straightforward one. This was nothing to do with the strength or success of the company, but the Group structure and the related shareholdings added complexity to the deal. In addition, a number of existing funders needed settling off as part of the overall deal.
Our remit was to help the client resolve all of these outstanding issues as quickly as possible so that the funding deal could be agreed. We were able to resolve all these issues, and swiftly moved on to arranging inspections of the assets. Following these, we were able to make an offer to the favoured finance company that was in line with our customer’s requirements, both in terms of the sum and the timescale.
Once the offer was in place, we arranged to meet the customer, along with the finance company to get all of the relevant documentation signed and the deal was quickly paid out. This enabled our customer to progress with their plans to grow the business.
